Pest Control Kent

The wasp season for pest control businesses really begins in earnest in July through to October, but this is weather dependent. In the recent past, 2008 – 2011, not including the universally accepted diabolical summer of 2012, wasp nests have been most prolific in the county of Kent. Enviro-Pest Solutions covers the areas of: Sussex, Surrey and Kent, and we discovered that the proportion of wasp nests destroyed in Kent were 4:1, compared to Sussex and Surrey.

This statement is based on our experience of enquiries by domestic and commercial clients in Kent, so, thereby, are wholly our opinion. It begs the question: pest control ashford why is Kent, each summer, apparently, plagued by wasps?

I would suggest there could be a number of explanations. I feel that it may have everything to do with Kent being the “Garden of England”, in the truest sense of the phrase. Wasps are omnivores, exploiting nectar from plants, predating on other insects i.e. flies, and feeding upon ripe and decaying fruits. Kent has the monopoly on orchards, due to this part of the UK being the warmest county, recording the hottest temperatures every summer. It goes without saying that orchards provide the requisite supply of wood with which wasps and hornets construct their nests

The people of Kent, in our estimation, inhabit a truly beautiful part of England. But, the cost of enjoying this is that you get your unfair proportion of nuisance Wasps (and Hornets).pest control crawley Enviro-Pest Solutions can help eliminate these pests for you in a discreet, effective and for a reasonable fee.

Other flying insects, that we have received a disproportionate number of requests for service in Kent, are Cluster Flies. This is especially so in the older buildings and converted oast houses. One particular species of Cluster Flies (Pollenia rudis), which parasitize earthworms, can be found usually inside sash windows and roof voids; entering in the autumn and overwintering here until the spring, where they emerge, sunning themselves pest control horsham on south facing walls and gates. Here the cycle of breeding and egg laying in the soil begins all over again; the larvae eat their way through their earthworm hosts, and so on. However, before carrying out a treatment, it is of the utmost importance to check for the presence of Bats, which may be roosting; sharing these void spaces with these Cluster Flies. If evidence of Bats is discovered, then no treatment can be carried out in the void, as these mammals are protected in law. Natural England is the organisation that should be sought to offer advice and guidance.
